A tangy cheese topping with chicken on grilled bread.
Ingredients
- 250 grams (2½ cups) grated tasty cheddar cheese
- 25 grams butter
- 2-3 tblsp Worcestershire Sauce
- ¼ cup dark beer
- salt and pepper to season
- 1 cup left over cold meat (chicken, ham or beef)
- 4 slices thick white bread (foccacia is good here)
Method
- Put the cheese, butter, Worcestershire sauce and beer into a saucepan and stir over a low heat until the cheese has melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
- Toast the bread under a grill on one side only and then top the ungrilled side with a little of the cold meat.
- Spoon an equal amount of the cheese mixture over the top. Grill under a high heat until golden and the cheese is bubbling. Serve immediately.
