Walnut Biscuits

Walnut Biscuits

These biscuits have a strong walnut flavour; they keep well and have a delightful chewy texture.

Ingredients

  • 125 grams butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon boyajian natural vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup walnut flour
  • 1 cup white flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup honey, melted

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C.
  2. Have two ungreased baking sheets ready.
  3. Mix together the first four ingredients, add the flours and baking soda and mix into a smooth dough. Shape into small balls of dough and place about 4cm apart on the baking tray. Place a walnut half on each and press to slightly flatten the balls.
  4. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until done.
  5. Remove the biscuits to a cooling rack and brush with the melted honey while they are warm. zest.
