This quick idea designed for those people with a bread machine.
Ingredients
- 1 basic dough recipe from your own machine’s recipe book
- 2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 cup very finely grated parmesan cheese
- 50-75 grams butter, melted
- 1 tbsp poppy or sesame seeds
Method
- Place the ingredients for your basic recipe into the bread machine dough bowl adding the pepper as well.
- Set the machine for dough and after 10 minutes of kneading time add the parmesan cheese. Leave the dough to continue through its process until ready.
- Turn the dough out and knock back gently.
- Roll out on a floured board to a 40cm x 30cm rectangle and then cut into 3-4cm pieces in any shape you like.
- Brush or dip the pieces of dough lightly into the melted butter and place in a 20cm x 30cm slice tin, overlapping the pieces to fit. Sprinkle over the poppy or sesame seeds and over with the clean tea towel. Allow to rest for 30 minutes.
- Cook at 200ºC for 30-35 minutes until well risen and golden. You will be able to tear the pieces off easily to accompany your mezze platter.
