Sweet Sour Pork Burgers

Ingredients

  • 750 grams pork mince
  • 225 gram crushed pineapple, well-drained
  • 1 onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 4-5 shiitake mushrooms, diced
  • 3-4 spring onions, trimmed and finely chopped
  • 1 tblsp minced fresh ginger
  • 2 tblsp chopped fresh coriander
  • 2 tblsp balsamic vinegar
  • 4 slices fresh pineapple, quartered

Method

  1. Mix together the pork mince, pineapple, onion, shiitake mushrooms, spring onions, ginger, coriander and balsamic vinegar. Shape into about 8 equal-sized hamburgers.
  2. Barbecue on a well-oiled, preheated hot plate for about 10-12 minutes turning occasionally.
  3. While the burgers are cooking, grill the pineapple pieces so that they are hot and lightly browned.
  4. Serve the burgers on grilled buns, topped with rocket leaves and pieces of grilled pineapple. Accompany with the Sweet and Sour Soy Dipping Sauce

Sweet and Sour Soy Dipping Sauce

  1. Mix together 4 tblsp Indonesian soy sauce with the juice and grated rind one lime, about 1 tblsp grated palm sugar and 1 tsp each minced fresh ginger and chilli.
