Slime jellies

Don't you love the name? And they look great. All you need is packet jelly and a few monster lollies and you are away. Use plastic glasses and spoons so the slime can be gobbled by trick or treaters enroute to the next house. The jellies look super in the plastic wine glasses.

Ingredients

  • 1 285-gram packet lime jelly
  • 1 185-gram packet lemon jelly
  • 4¾ cups boiling water
  • a selection of bugs and worms lollies (we used Monster Mix, Squirms and Bugs)
  • 10 disposable plastic wine glasses

Method

  1. Pour 3 cups boiling water over the lime jelly crystals, stirring well to dissolve. Cool to room temperature.
  2. Pour 1¾ cups boiling water over the lemon jelly crystals, stirring until dissolved. Cool to room temperature.
  3. Pour a little jelly into the base of each wine glass. Place the wine glasses on an angle and refrigerate until set.
  4. Place bugs and worms over the jelly, tilt the glasses in the opposite direction and pour over a little more jelly. Return to the refrigerator until set.
  5. Alternate with a layer of lemon jelly. Continue layering until the glasses are full. Allow 3 to 4 hours for the jellies to set completely.

Cooks Tips

- To set the wineglasses on an angle, place them with their edge against a paper towel-lined, deep-sided slice tin or tray. The paper will help keep them stable. As the jelly gets higher, sit the glasses in a higher tin.
