Ingredients
- 3/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 2 teaspoons Chinese five spice powder
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary
- About 1 kg lamb spareribs
Method
- Mix together the soy sauce, lemon juice, sesame oil, garlic, Chinese five spice powder and rosemary. Pour into a resealable bag, add the lamb spareribs and toss to coat. Allow to marinate for 30 minutes, or refrigerate for up to 2-4 hours.
- Drain off the marinade. Barbecue the spareribs over steadily glowing coals or a low gas flame for 10-15 minutes, turning regularly. Alternatively fan grill under a high heat (230°C) on a foil-lined tray for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally until browned.
- Serve the spareribs with a sprinkling of toasted sesame seeds and extra soy sauce for dipping.
Cooks Tips
- When meat or spareribs have been marinated in a sweet marinade always watch the cooking temperature to avoid any charring.
