Ingredients
- 2 x 150 gram pieces beef fillet steak
- 1 tsp Chinese five spice powder
- salt and pepper to season
- 250 grams soba noodles
- boiling salted water
- 4-6 shiitake mushrooms
- 2 raddichio, finely shredded
- 8-10 snow peas, finely shredded
- 2 spring onion, finely chopped
- ¼ cup light soy sauce
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- 2 tblsp honey
- 4 tblsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tblsp minced fresh ginger
- 1 tblsp sesame oil
Method
- Cook the soba noodles in boiling salted water until tender. Drain well and plunge into cold water and then drain.
- Season the beef fillet with five spice, salt and pepper. Panfry in hot oil for 3 minutes each side. Set aside.
- Add the mushrooms, raddichio and snowpeas to the pan and toss only until wilted.
- Finely slice the beef. Toss it in a bowl with the noodles, vegetables and the dressing. To make the dressing, shake together all the ingredients in a jar.
