Quick Apple And Marmalade Crumble

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sultanas or raisins
  • ¼ cup brandy or fruit juice
  • 770 gram can sliced apples
  • ½ cup marmalade

Crumble

  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 125 grams butter, melted

Method

  1. Soak the sultanas or raisins in the brandy or fruit juice for 10 minutes. Toss together with the apple slices and marmalade and pile into a 6-cup capacity dish or 4 individual dishes.
  2. Toss together all the ingredients for the crumble and pile on top of the fruit and marmalade mixture.
  3. Bake at 180ºC for 35 minutes or until the filling is hot and the crumble is golden. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

Cooks Tips

To stew apples, peel and slice 1kg cooking apples (Ballarats or Granny Smiths). Cook in a dash of water with about ½ cup sugar and a knob of butter in a lidded saucepan until soft. Cool before topping with crumble.
