Mustard (white) Sauce

Mustard (white) Sauce

Use different varieties of mustard to give this sauce different nuance of flavour. I prefer to use Dijon mustard, though Hot English is ideal with corned beef.

Ingredients

  • 1 quantity basic white sauce (see website for recipe)
  • 1 tblsp wholeseed mustard
  • 1 tblsp prepared mustard
  • ΒΌ cup cream

Method

  1. Make the basic white sauce (see recipe on this website).
  2. Add the mustards and cream and heat through.

Cooks Tips

Uses: Ideal with corned beef, roast chicken or grilled fish. Spoon over mashed potatoes or parsnips, and top with grated cheese and grill until golden.
