Put this syrup in nice jars as a special gift to share with friends and family.
Ingredients
- 1 vanilla pod, split or 2 tsp vanilla essence
- 500 grams figlets
- 3 cups water
- 2 cups sugar
- 5cm sprig fresh rosemary
- 2 oranges, grated rind and juice
Method
- Place the figlets, water, sugar, rosemary, vanilla pod or essence and orange rind and juice into a large saucepan and boil gently for 15 minutes until the figlets, the plums and the syrup thickens.
- Bottle into hot sterilised jars and seal. Label and gift-wrap. Serve with ice cream for a special dessert.
