Crushed buttered peas

Go gourmet with a packet of frozen peas and make them a side dish that's special enough to serve when entertaining.


  • 500-600 grams frozen peas
  • 50-75 grams butter


  1. Cook the peas in a dash of water for about 3-5 minutes over a high heat or in the microwave until very hot. Do not overcook.
  2. Drain well, add the butter and mash coarsely. Season to taste with salt and pepper before servine.

Cooks Tips

-Frozen peas are blanched, frozen and packed within 90 minutes of being picked so they're very healthy. Cook frozen vegetables in only a tiny amount of water to ensure they retain all that goodness - and don't overcook, that's when they go soggy.
