Cajun hamburgers

Ingredients

  • 500 grams minced beef
  • 1 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and mashed to a paste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoonground oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne powder
  • ¼ teaspoon chilli powder
  • ¼ cup chopped spring onions
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 1 avocado

Method

  1. Combine the beef onion, garlic, cumin, oregano, paprika, white pepper, cayenne powder, chilli powder, spring onions, salt and egg. Blend well.
  2. Shape into 6 even-sized hamburger patties and chill.
  3. Barbecue for 20 minutes until well browned on both sides and thoroughly cooked. Serve on a toasted hamburger bun, topped with sliced avocado, chilli sauce and sour cream.
