Over the last 12 months, New Zealanders have consumed nearly 2.5 million kilos of specialty cheese! Products range from soft creamy camemberts and bries through to sharp fetas and strong tasting parmesan. Apparently we just can’t get enough!

At Puhoi Valley Cheese Company, we take the art of cheese making very seriously. In today’s increasingly competitive environment, staying at the forefront of the specialty cheese market is getting harder and harder. New Zealanders are also becoming increasingly sophisticated when it comes to choosing cheese.

Puhoi Valley's commitment to staying in front was rewarded in the recent NZ Cheese Awards, where Puhoi Valley Cheese won three prestigious Champion awards as well as 11 medals.

So what’s new on the Cheeseboard? Recent activity includes the launch of three new Bouton d’or Camembert flavours – Strawberry, Maple Walnut and Basil & Pepper – providing consumers with a sweet or savoury hint added to their favourite creamy Camembert. Look out for new packaging in the chiller at your favourite supermarket.

Puhoi Valley has also launched Kaha Blue – a strong tasting blue cheese for true “blue connoisseurs”. And the Puhoi Valley Dips range was diversified with the addition of three new flavours - Smoked Snapper, Roasted Pepper & Chilli and a Basil Pesto Aioli. These use fresh ingredients that reflect the brand’s commitment to quality products.

Ornelle saw the launch of a new Grated Parmesan, a convenient product that can be sprinkled over salads or traditional Italian dishes.

Puhoi Valley Cheese is committed to providing New Zealanders with innovative new products in the specialty cheese market. Look out for these exciting products in a supermarket deli near you!
