Pork And Apple Burgers

Ingredients

  • 600 grams pork mince
  • 1 red onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 tblsp chopped fresh basil
  • ΒΌ cup Asian-style plum sauce
  • 2 eating apples, cored and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • toasted bagels or hamburger buns

Method

  1. Mix together the pork mince, onion, basil and plum sauce. Season with salt and pepper. With wet hands, shape into 4 to 5 patties.
  2. Cook over a moderate to low heat on a greased BBQ plate or in a frying pan for 5-7 minutes each side until the burgers are golden.
  3. Gently pan fry the sliced apples in butter until tender and golden, turning once. Serve the pork burgers on toasted bagels topped with red apple slices.
