I feel somewhat like Maizy-the-Lazy Bird from Dr Seuss's Horton the Elephant as my holiday involved a lot of laying about doing a great deal of nothing much really. But now that the school lunchboxes are calling (not to mention the children to whom they belong) plus work commitments, it's time to return to a more active, energy-fuelled state.
it's hard to believe it but I've now completed my year's challenge - improving, (at a stretch), perfecting my culinary talents. He-he. And to be honest, it's been a blast. My highlight would have to be the baking the sponge cake. Who would have thought that Lucy would ask me if I'd bought it - so perfect was the result?
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for following my ravings and sticking by me over this past year. I most certainly hope some of you had a good old belly laugh at my expense, especially when things went a little wonky. Being able to have first-hand feedback from Allyson has been fantastic. She has taught me a great deal. You've got to love her energy and enthusiasm for her work - not to mention her family, friends and colleagues.
Take care. Keep the cooking faith!
